Wake The Lake
Country Festival

PRESENTS The following National Acts

WHEY JENNINGS
- Waylon Jennings Grandson

Country singer-songwriter Whey Jennings was born into one of country music’s most iconic family names, first emerging in 2012 as another naturally gifted singer from the Jennings tribe. With large boots to fill, the young Nashville recording artist and singer-songwriter for Dirt Rock Empire, with a booming baritone voice as big as Texas, finds himself with a few expectations to live up to. Seeking to establish his own musical legacy as one of the few remaining torch-bearing country traditionalists out there, Whey can instantly take his fans back to a time and sound his Grandfather Waylon and Grandmother Jessi gave birth to in the 70’s, even with his own songs.

THOMAS GABRIEL
- Johnny Cash's Grandson

Born in Ventura, California, to Kathy Cash (one of four daughters Johnny Cash had with first wife Vivian Liberto Cash.) Thomas Gabriel spent time touring with grandparents Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash as a boy and became interested in music at an early age.

In addition to following in his family’s musical footsteps, Gabriel also followed down the path of substance abuse. His addictions led to a lengthy arrest record, and a number of years in prison.

The solitude of prison provoked him to explore songwriting again, a journey that he had begun in his youth.

After release,  Thomas began paving a new path. Undoubtedly influenced by his iconic grandfather, in 2018 Gabriel began working on his debut  album, Long Way Home.

Dedicated now to telling his story in an effort to help spread awareness for those battling addiction, Thomas Gabriel continues to aim his focus on writing and releasing new music and to touring the world.
It's been a rough road... a road less traveled, but when you meet Thomas Gabriel you'll soon learn that each and every twist and turn has taken him from the lowest of valleys to the highest of mountain tops. His songwriting is always personal and his stories are compelling.

RAELYN NELSON Band
- Willie Nelson's Granddaughter

Raelyn Nelson is a musician who plays country, southern rock, and a mix of other genres.

She comes from a family of which many are musicians. She is the granddaughter of Willie Nelson.

Rolling Stone magazine describes her  music as a "mix of old country and dirty garage rock".

BRAD JOHNSON
& The Killing Time Band

Brad Johnson formed his band while serving in the United States Marine Corps aboard the U.S.S. Tarawa in the Middle East.

What started as a way to pass the time until he returned home quickly evolved into a thriving musical career. Unlike many of his peers, Brad doesn't rely on gimmicks or soundbite music - he's built his reputation on raw, authentic talent and a true love for real country music.

Over the years, the band has had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of country music's biggest names, including Toby Keith, Chris LeDoux, Tracy Byrd, Rascal Flatts, John Michael Montgomery, Montgomery Gentry, Jason Aldean, Gary Allan, the Bellamy Brothers, Smokin' Armadillos, Ricochet, Trick Pony, Merle Haggard, Keith Urban, Bill Engvall, Larry the Cable Guy, Rodney Carrington, and many more.

PRESLEY TENNANT

From the Rodeos to Rodeo Drive, Presley Tennant is the result of unequivocal talent and western ease. Dubbed a “vocal powerhouse” by Taste of Country, People Magazine states Presley is “quickly proving that she is a wild card in the country music industry.” With roots in Norco and boots in Nashville, Tennant combines California charisma with country charm, blazing her own trail and designing a sound that is all her own.

Raised in Horsetown, USA just outside of Los Angeles, Tennant turned down a promising path filled with soccer opportunities to dedicate her time to music. With days filled with dance lessons, rehearsals and homeschooling, Presley found herself in the teenage all-girl pop group Five LPs, or Five Little Princesses. After the group fizzled out when she was 13, she continued down her path of pop music that she was familiar with, filled with intricate dance routines and vocal performances. At just 16-years-old, Presley made her national appearance on ‘The Voice’ and, inspired by Kelly Clarkson telling her to follow her heart, she made the move to country music where her roots truly lie.

Filled with uncompromising integrity, the ‘it’ factor and a dream, it’s no surprise Presley Tennant provides an unforgettable high-energy show. Not only has she performed for crowds over 20,000, she has shared the stage with musical heroes Tim Mcgraw, Kelly Clarkson, Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell and more.

PHIL VALDEZ

Phil Valdez grew up in Colorado within a musically talented family. He began playing guitar at age 10, and dedicated his adolescent years to lessons and perfecting his guitar talent by learning from one of the greatest jazz guitar players, Bobby Montoya.

Playing guitar in the family band as a teen with his father, mother, brother, and two uncles introduced him to country music at an early age.

Phil began singing as a late teen idolizing Merle Haggard and George Jones. His voice has a rich baritone, reminiscent of his country music heroes.

As a professional guitar player, Phil has been featured in Guitar Player magazine. His guitar style can be described as a hybrid of a country pickin jazz player.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Phil has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and has played guitar for some of the best names in country music including Vern Gosdin, Stonewall Jackson, Tracy Byrd, Daryle Singletary, Mark Wills, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Chestnut, and many others.

Currently, he tours the world promoting his own music as a solo acoustic act. He continues to impress his fans and country music critics with his triple threat of singing, songwriting and guitar playing.

Phil is working on a new album to be released in the near future.

BEKI JOHNSON

Beki Johnson is a true country artist from Norman, Oklahoma.

She’s been singing since the age of 10 and is a classically trained, award-winning vocalist.

Influenced by the timeless styles of Patsy Cline, Reba McEntire, and Bette Midler, Beki brings powerful storytelling and authentic country roots to every performance.

CESAR MICHEL CRUZ

Country music's rising star, Cesar Michel Cruz, got his first acoustic guitar at the age of 16 and penned his first song a year later.

In his early years, "Czar," a nickname that has stuck with him since his high school days, played guitar in punk and rock bands in and around the Los Angeles area. He eventually found his true love, country music, and hasn't looked back. Other than working on his solo career as a singer songwriter, he currently fronts two L.A. based Outlaw, Honky Tonk bands, Rollin' Ramblers and Badland Bullets.

His love of sparkling telecasters plugged into vintage tube driven amps, pedal steels crying and sobbing heartbreak tunes is what inspires his songwriting. His lyrics are truly outlaw driven. Songs about freedom, dirtnaps under the moon, empty shot glasses of cheap whisky, and revved up V8 engines. A style reminiscent of Bakersfield ghosts sharing a drink with some punk rock spirits in a haunted honky tonk.

He has written and composed over 100 songs throughout his music career and toured the nation with the aforementioned bands.

NALU CUICO

Nalu Cuico, a Hawaiian/Italian country music singer from southern California.

I started off listening to country music at a young age, listening to old folk and country music from the mountain forests of Hawaii to the plains and mountain peaks of the great American west.

My style is a play on American country legends, from David Alan Coe to George Jones, from Waylon Jennings to George Strait. I'm here to keep the long country tradition alive, well and thriving.
